"MPSC
Swimming is more
than a sport of the individual.
It is the challenge of character,
the strength of spirit
and the hope of the future."

Time Conversion
Tool |

|
Convert

Distance/Stroke
|
Convert
To: |

|
NOTE: This conversion table
is provided as a tool to aid in how a swimmer
may have performed at a certain course where
there have been no recent times to compare
at that same course length but the swimmer
has times in the same stroke length in other
distance courses. Examples of this could be
after the six-month short course season and
prior to the first seasonal long course meet,
or for new swimmers who just completed a certain
course season and they do not have any times
in the approaching alternate course season.
As an example, a swimmer may have a long course
personal best time of 1:10.50 in the 100 freestyle
heading into the first short course meet.
By using the time converter, from LCM to SCY,
a time of 1:02.07 can be an approximate time
to use as that swimmer's comparison time for
the short course.
Select the course conversion (i.e. short course
to long course). Select the event distance
(the stroke doesn't matter except for the
distance freestyles). Enter the time
(minutes and seconds) to be converted and
click "Convert".
Conversion times are estimates only. Some
swimmers perform better in short course meets
or long course meets. If a swimmer adds several
seconds compared to a converted time, the
swimmer actually may have improved. If a swimmer
drops 10-12 seconds in an event, it is then
likely the swimmer did indeed improve his/her
time and swam the event well. |
